About Melody
Education
Ms. Melody Caspari’s dynamic approach allows students to truly discover music! Piano Instruction She teaches beginning piano technique with a creative, color-based method. This method uses a child-developmental approach, introducing skills in accordance with the capabilities of the child, through experiences such as listening, singing, or movement as well as with vocal and visual aids to the keyboard. This technique was taught to Melody by the late, legendary educator, Dr. Elisabeth Caspari. Dr. Caspari had a successful music school in Switzerland and then became one of Maria Montessori's closest colleagues and continued to actively teach music and Montessori education until her passing at 102 years old. |

Voice and Vocal Coaching
Melody also teaches singing and vocal technique for students of all ages and skill levels, with a variety of focuses: jazz, rock, blues, pop and classical.
Melody emphasizes the importance of healthy singing and the natural production of sound above all.
Besides her formal education at the Opera Institute at California State University at Long Beach, California and The Juilliard Conservatory Extension in New York City, Melody has been a long time apprentice to Thelma Dare Ahner, the greatly-respected vocal pedagogue and technician.
A classically trained Soprano, Melody is a Bay Area based Opera Singer. She has performed in numerous venues throughout California and has also appeared on stages in New York, and Verona, Italy. Melody’s honors include winning the Henry and Maria Holt Memorial Scholarship with West Bay Opera and grand prize in Pacific Musical Society’s Junior Vocal competition

In addition to Melody’s teaching studio at the Petaluma School of Music, she is also the owner and director of our school.
Her goal for the Petaluma School of Music is to provide a haven in Petaluma for all to enjoy, experience, and grow through music. Music for all!
