About Katie
Katie DeJongh has been teaching and playing the flute professionally for over 25 years. Prior to moving to the Bay Area in 2017, she was a full time instructor at the Cleveland Institute of Music where she also has served as Chair of Winds and Brass for the Preparatory Department. Prior faculty positions include Interlochen Arts Camp, College of Wooster, and Hiram College. She has performed as Principal Flutist with the ProMusica Chamber Orchestra of Columbus and the Canton Symphony Orchestra, and she has traveled the world as a solo flutist and recording artist. Ms. DeJongh’s CDs include Twentieth Century works for Flute and Orchestra (Centaur Records), Concerto No. 1 for flute and orchestra by Krzesimir Dębski (Koch International), and Neo-Ragtime (Centaur Records). Ms.DeJongh received her M.M. from the Cleveland Institute of Music and B.M. from the University of Illinois. |
